Helping our community

Amarillo National Bank believes very strongly in helping our neighbors. In fact, through our "Thanks a Million" campaign, we make annual contributions of more than $1 million to Amarillo charities and organizations. During the Christmas holidays, each employee is given the option to donate $100 in bank funds to the charity of their choice — all we ask is that the money is delivered in person. Over the last seven years, the "Thanks a Million" campaign has resulted in over $8 million in funding for local causes.

But money isn’t everything. We also give with our hands and our hearts. ANB employees give thousands of hours of service in the community each year — many of them working with more than one organization or project. We’re especially glad to provide free ANB financial literacy seminars, offered periodically by bank employees at area schools and any other organization that requests them.

Our employees’ strong commitment to community development services — especially those addressing the needs of low- to moderate-income individuals — has even earned the praise of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, our primary regulator. This office periodically evaluates banks on how well they meet the needs of our entire community, in what’s known as a Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Performance Evaluation. On our 2005 CRA exam, Amarillo National Bank was rated "Outstanding", (one of just 2 Texas banks our size with that rating), due mainly to the tireless efforts of our employees.
